Re: Changes to CredibleMeds® lists - Perphenazine, Vilanterol, Levosulpiride, Garenoxacin

The safe use of the CredibleMeds^® lists of medications requires that the user have the most up-to-date lists and be aware when changes have been made.  Therefore, we wish to inform you of the following:  

The quinolone antibiotic garenoxacin (brand name Geninax®) that is marketed in Japan has been added to the list of drugs with Conditional Risk of TdP for the conditions of hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia or use with QT prolonging drugs.  The antipsychotic levosulpiride (brand names Lesuride®, Levazeo®, Enliva®) has been added to the list with Known Risk of TdP.  The antipsychotic perphenazine (brand names Trilafon®,  Etrafon/Triavil®, Decentan®) was added to the list of drugs with Possible Risk of TdP.  The bronchodilator vilanterol (brand name Breo Ellipta^®) was added to the list of Drugs to Avoid, if at all possible, by patients with congenital long QT syndrome.
