Two drugs have been added to the Possible Risk of Torsades de Pointes (TdP) list because we have found evidence of QT prolongation associated with these medicines. We have not found convincing evidence of TdP at this time. The two are Mianserin (Atypical antidepressant) (Non-US market) and Siponimod (Multiple Sclerosis therapy).
Also, Oxymetazoline (Nasal decongestant) has been added to the Special Risk in cLQTS category because of its effects as a cardiac stimulant.
We encourage everyone to be aware of the differences between each of the QT/TdP Risk categories, i.e. Known Risk of TdP, Possible Risk of TdP, Conditional Risk of TdP and Special Risk in cLQTS. The descriptions can be found at: https://crediblemeds.org/index.php/drugsearch
